Get Notified When we Post Cool New Stuff

Hey fans around the globe, Antonio here. I\’ve been working on Pixelrater for the past year or so here and there trying to make the site better. Some of you may remember the big 2.0 site update we launched a couple months back that introduced game hubs where all news, reviews, and videos for each game are aggregated into a central place. It also added other new features like the ability to search for a game by genre, platform, rating, etc. and you may have witnessed the homepage go through multiple revisions until I found one I like, which is the current iteration. It\’s been a lot of work because I am one guy, after all, but it\’s been fun.

I\’m happy to introduce the latest addition in the 2.0 phase: Pixelrater Push Notifications…..or just push notifications if you don\’t want to add any pizzazz. They\’re here and they work on Safari, Chrome, and Firefox on Windows, macOS, and Linux. Now, dear reader or podcast listener, you can be notified the moment we publish an article, review, or podcast episode. The first time you visit Pixelrater you\’ll be prompted to subscribe if you haven\’t been asked already. Notifications have been live for a few weeks now, but I never officially announced them because I couldn\’t get our logo to show up within the notification bubble itself. Today, thanks to good guy Eric, the logo now displays in all three browser banners. If you previously subscribed and want our logo to show up, simply click the red notification button on the lower right corner of the website to unsubscribe and then click it again to resubscribe. For the time being notifications only work on desktop operating systems with support for native Android and iOS notifications coming some time in the future. While notifications may not seem like a big deal to those of you reading this, they are for me. Doing everything from picking the name to designing the logo and site has been interesting. Even better is getting amazing friends on board to create what I hope you think is great content. I\’ve wanted to do a podcast for a long time, so starting LAN Party at the end of January and watching it recently surpass over one thousand downloads/streams in under seven months has been quite rewarding. Thank you to friends, family, and readers/watchers who have stuck with us since the beginning as well as those who just discovering us. Please tell everyone you know about us. We\’re just five friends who love games and want to share that love with you.
