Welcome again to that time of the week where you realize, yes, that item in the fridge IS rotten and yet you still don’t throw it away – Mobile Games You Mighta Missed. This week, we have one of my all time favorites – Fieldrunners 2. A perfect concoction of zany and challenging, Fieldrunners 2 is the tower defense game you’ve been dreaming of.
Fieldrunners, for me, was really my introduction into mobile gaming in general. I remember many nights huddled under my blankets staying up FAR TOO LATE playing this on my original iPod touch. Fieldrunners 2 took everything great about the original Fieldrunners and turned it up to 11. I really love a great and challenging tower defense game, and Fieldrunners 2 is able to perfectly balance very challenging waves with simple and easy to navigate controls. Building the path that the enemy will take is so satisfying and entertaining, and watching the carnage unfold as you continue to build up your defenses is sheer perfection. The difficulty ramps up fast, and so strategic decisions in what weapon towers to take and paths to build are your keys to success.
With a ton of levels and maps to keep you entertained, Fieldrunners 2 is a title that you will continue to come back to again and again, even years later. Honestly, if I had to choose to have only one game on my phone for the rest of eternity, this one would probably be it.
