Wow. Though I can\’t say I\’ve had ALL of those emotions throughout my years as a Pokémon trainer, this definitely captures the spirit of what if feels like to play. Look at all those Gameboys! (I\’m having a bit of touble imagining the producers handing a gameboy pocket to a child of today and not getting a confused stare.)

Today, Nintendo had a 6 minute Nintendo Direct event to celebrate 20 years of Pokémon and, more importanty, reveal the newest entry in the series. Pokémon Sun and Moon. You can catch the whole presentation after the jump.

Exciting as the whole thing was, it\’s a bit of a disappointment the video didn\’t show any gameplay or reveal any new creatures to capture. What it did do though, was imply communication would be big. The Trailer really emphasizes bringing people together and overcoming language barriers to be able to play together around the world. This could be the step toward the Pokémon MMO we\’ve always wanted!

Also, it was annoucned that the e-shop versions of Pokémon versions Red, Blue, and Yellow will be compatible with Pokemon bank, allowing you to bring your Monsters to the game. This is exciting for those life long trainers; but also begs the question, can I transfer Missingno. to the newer games or will my 3DS explode?!

Color me hyped!
