It’s full fledged spooky time, and today’s update has given Overwatch a beautiful horror overhaul. Everyone’s favorite fall holiday is the backdrop to a new game mode, skins, emotes, victory poses, and general in-game epicness.
Similar to Summer Games, Halloween Terror is the latest seasonal event to drop, bringing us some Nosfaratu realness. We have 12 new character skins to collect – and holy shit they look amazing. Some of these skins are now my new favorites in the game, they just look so damn good. And never fear, if you’ve fallen in love with one of the ghostly seasonal items, you can still unlock it with credits in the Hero Gallery (at a premium cost).
Just like before, this seasonal content will turn every loot box owned and earned into a Halloween Terror Loot Box, guaranteeing you at least one Halloween Terror themed item from each box. There are over 100 new items to collect.
In addition to new stuff to earn, there is also a new game mode available – a co-op PvE Brawl titled Junkenstein’s Revenge. It’s a 4 person wave-based game mode, that feels almost like a tower defense gauntlet. You play as either Hanzo, Ana, McCree, or Soldier 76 against a variety of different enemies, all coming from diffrent directions to the point you are defending. Personally, I’m SUPER excited about this game mode – I’m all about the PvE scene, and this game mode is insanely fun to play.
Halloween Terror is available to every guy and ghoul until November 1st.
