  • After 18 years with Naughty Dog, Bruce Straley, the co-director of The Last of Us and Uncharted 4, is leaving the studio. “This has been the hardest decision of my career,” he explained in a blog post. “Naughty Dog is home. After heading up three extremely demanding projects, and taking some extended time away from the office following Uncharted 4, I found my energy focusing in other directions, and I slowly realized this was the signal that it’s time to move on.”

  • Japanese Splatoon 2 players have weighed in: When it comes to McDonald’s most iconic foods, chicken nuggets reign supreme. Well, at least according to the results or Japan’s latest Splatfest.

  • After disappearing from store shelves, the NES Classic is returning next year. But that’s not all: the Super NES Classic will continue to be shipped through 2018. In Japan, the Super Famicom will still get shipped after October, and the Famicom Mini is going back into production. Hot damn.

  • Lizardcube, the developer behind the wonderful remaster of Wonderboy: The Dragon’s Trap, said sales on Switch outsold all other consoles combined. This isn’t the only game to have this kind of success either—titles Oceanhorn and Death Squared join the list.

  • Switch’s Axiom Verge release date on the eShop has been pushed up to October 5 after a few delays.

  • Is Nintendo working on an achievement system for Switch? One comment from a developer has set off a firestorm of speculation about the possibility.The developers of Lichtspeer: Double Speer Edition held a Reddit AMA yesterday. Tom Tomaszewski from Crunching Koalas participated, and shared some interesting comments. First, when asked why Lichtspeer doesn’t have rankings. Tomaszewski replied with the following:

    ”Nintendo doesn’t have an official support for Achievements and Leaderboards, like Sony or Microsoft but we know that they’re working on it. We’ll see how it goes and we’ll add the rankings along the way.”

  • We have a bit of news about the upcoming Better Together update for Minecraft. According to Minecraft staffer Aubrey Norris, there are no plans to bring it to the just-launched Minecraft: new 3DS Edition.

  • Sean Vanaman, co-founder of studio Campo Santo, announced on Twitter today that the studio would be filing DMCA takedowns against YouTuber Felix “PewDiePie” Kjellberg.

  • The demo for Fifa 18 has launched for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
