Ark Survival Evolved is Coming to Mobile

Nintendo

  • Just like other territories, Nintendo Zone will be discontinued in Europe on March 28. The service allowed 3DS owners to go online, download content, and use StreetPass relay points to receive StreetPass data from others.

  • Nintendo released a new video looking at a creative piece of software for their upcoming Labo project. The “Toy-Con Garage” allows users to make various reactive devices by linking a selection of cause-and-effect options. The software is based around the concept of input and output. Users can select various motions, such as button presses or specific stick movement, and then link those inputs to a variety of effects. So, for example, pushing the stick upwards would make the screen light up, or the face buttons could be mapped to play sound effects. Check it out in the trailer below.

Xbox

  • Microsoft just opened a new cloud gaming division and while the company isn’t saying much about what the new gaming cloud division is working on yet, its Kareem Choudhry hints that they’re exploring ways to bring content to gamers on any device.

  • Fortnite received an update that adds supply Llamas (yes, really), remote bombs, and Xbox One cross-play with PC, Mac, iOS with Android in the coming months. As you can tell, that leaves out PS4 players because Sony is being a bunch of dick bags about it.

Industry News

  • Subnautica received a new update for Xbox One at version number 84 which is on PC. The update contains 20+ bug fixes, improves performance, and adjusts gameplay.

  • As rumored and all but confirmed in the HTML for Tomb Raider’s official site yesterday, Shadow of the Tomb Raider has been announced with a new trailer that teases a trip to Mayan pyramids. Check it out in the media section below.

  • Dino survival sim Ark: Survival Evolved is coming to mobile as a free-to-play title. You can check out the launch trailer in the media section. Maybe this means it’s not crazy to think it could make its way to Switch.

  • Rapper Drake played Fortnite and broke Twitch’s concurrent viewers in a single stream record with 607,000 concurrent viewers. BANANAS!

Word on the Street

  • Rumor has it that Spyro the Dragon: Treasure Trilogy will be announced today or close to it which, after seeing the success Crash Bandicoot’s trilogy remaster saw, isn’t all that surprising.

  • Super Bomberman R is officially coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC June 12 in North America and June 14 elsewhere along with an exclusive character for each platform.

    • Ratchet & Clank Bomber – (PlayStation 4)
      • Master Chief Bomber – (Xbox One)
      • P-body Bomber – (Steam)
  • Indie dev team Tomorrow Corporation just revealed their new game Welcome to the Information Superhighway. This is surprising considering it’s only a few months after they announced 7 Billion Humans, a followup to Human Resource Machine.
