Inside the Nintendo Gameboy!

I’ve spent some time on the Game Boy. Pokemon, Tetris, Zelda, Pokemon, Castlevania, Pokemon, Donkey Kong, Pokemon.

You get the idea.

In my first decade on this planet alone, I’d put enough batteries into that little grey box to keep Duracell in business. My poor parents should have bought stock. Between an early life cross country move, countless playground battles, and sleepovers with fellow pokemon trainers, I’m sure I’m not alone in praising Nintendo’s elementary school gateway drug.

As of February 2016, Nintendo reports that through its life span, The Gameboy family sold over 118.7 million units! Everybody had one! Well, maybe not those Game Gear Kids; but you didn\’t want to hang out with them anyway. They watched Surf Ninjas.

Ever wonder how everyone’s favorite first handheld ticked? Ponder no more! The people over at JackTech have come up with a clever short film to help explain the gadget in a way anyone can understand. Interesting points to me were how much of a pain it was to design anything on the box, but somehow managed to perform so well. Take a look for yourself!

What was your favorite Gameboy memory? Do you look back fondly at the system? Let us know!

I'm unabashedly in love with Nintendo; ESPECIALLY Zelda! Spelunky is my jam. Burritos are life.
