PlayStation

  • Details on Sony’s rumored updated PS4 codenamed \”neo\” have surfaced. According to a supposed leaked document PS4 Neo’s CPU would be 1.3 times more powerful than the current PS4, it\’s GPU would be 2.3 times more powerful than the currnet PS4, and it\’s memory would have 24 percent more bandwidth and 512MB more usable RAM than the current PS4.

  • The Batman Arkham collection will release on PS4 but will only include Arkham Asylum and Arkham City

  • Shadow Complex Remastered is coming to PS4 May 3

  • Coming three years after Microsoft, the PlayStation Network is getting two-factor authentication. No word on when or how the system will work, but it’s likely it would be SMS based.



Xbox

  • After more than a decade Microsoft has ended Xbox 360 production. The firm says 360 owners will still be able to access the online store and receive updates like they could before

  • SUPERHOT is super awesome and will land on Xbox One in May. Antonio really enjoys the title and will have a review up next week. He\’s such an asshole.

  • Microsoft and HBO stealth-launched an HBO Now app on Xbox One, bringing the streaming service to the console just in time. Just in time for Game of Thrones\’ sixth season.



Nintendo

  • Miitomo now has four million monthly active users and is estimated to bring Nintendo $280,000 per week

  • Metroid Prime: Federation Force for 3DS will arrive on August 19. Our very own Tristan has warmed up to the title


Misc Gaming

  • GameStop has signed Tequila Works and Ready at Dawn on to it’s publishing platform. The two join heavy hitter Insomniac Games.

  • Sega announced a Genesis themed hub is coming to Steam April 28 and will be chock full of games from the 90’s—free of charge to gamers! Even more interesting, Sega is enabling support for Steam Workshop mods for said Genesis and Mega Drive titles

  • Tastuya Minami, the president of Platinum Games, has stepped down

  • Mirror’s Edge Catalyst got a side stich and will take a breather until June 7

  • id software announced they’re set to reveal a FPS in the style of Star Wars on April 25



Rumors

  • A supposed image of the map for the much rumored Red Dead 2 was revealed. It’s larger than original, takes place directly east of the old map (overlapping a bit), and has been “confirmed” by a source close to Rockstar. It is also claimed that this will be a direct sequel to the original.

  • You didn’t think a week without a fresh NX rumor would go by did you? A new source claims that the NX will receive an enormous first party lineup. They also claim that Nintendo is restructuring to bring out first party titles at a much accelerated rate and that NX will see more first party game output than any previous Nintendo system
