PlayStation

  • Gran Turismo Sport launches on PS4 November 15, 2016.

  • If you haven’t taken the time to check out the King’s Quest remake yet, episode one is available for free on the PlayStation Store. I personally found it really delightful.

  • The team at Image & Form Games announced the hugely popular 3DS game SteamWorld Heist is making its way to PS3, PS4, and PS Vita May 31 and will be a cross-buy title


Xbox

  • Nearly 1 million retired Xbox Live Gamertags are now up for grabs

  • Halo 5’s Forge mode is coming to Windows 10 PC’s free of charge and will support up to 4K resolutions.


Nintendo

  • Niantic Labs has opened up registration for a Pokémon Go field test in the United States

  • More information about Pokémon Sun & Moon coming June 2nd

  • Nintendo confirmed it’s bringing Yo-kai Watch 2 to the west


Industry News

  • Unfortunately critics aren’t liking the Ratchet & Clank movie but they are liking the Angry Birds movie. how ass backwards does that seem?!

  • It’s been revealed that the upcoming Assassin’s Creed movie will spend over half the time in the present.

  • Batman: Return to Arkham will release 7.26.16 for PS4 and Xbox One for $50. Includes Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City and all previously released DLC.

  • Speaking on an investor broadcast, EA exec Patrick Soderlund confirmed Star Wars Battlefront lacked a single player campaign because the company wanted the game to release alongside The Force Awakens movie

  • During Rockstar’s latest financial call with investors CEO Strauss Zelnick said: “Rockstar Games is of course hard at work on some exciting future projects that will be revealed soon.”

  • EA revealed a sequel to Unraveled is coming. Cleverly titled Unraveled 2.


Rumors

  • Resident Evil 7 will reboot series to its original horror roots. Designer of P.T. on board

  • When asked about the possible existence of Dead Island 2, PR manager Anna Lada-Grodzicka said that “the Dying Light brand is more important for us”, signaling that Techland is working on a potential sequel to it’s very popular open world, undead, parkour, survival game.

  • Sony files a trademark for G-Police in Europe. This has prompted speculation about as other entry in the series.

  • Destiny’s next major expansion will be called Rise of Iron if supposed leaked marketing materials are to be believed

CORRECTION: last week I stated Avalanche Studios is closing due to Disney Infinity winding down. This is incorrect. Avalanche Software is closing.
