Remastered Spyro Trilogy Announced and Spider-Man Gets a Release Date

PlayStation

  • It’s no secret Slime-Rancher is one of my favorite recent time wasters. I was introduced to it for free on Xbox One where it’s performance wasn’t all that great before buying it on Steam. After nearing completion, I have started another play through on Xbox and can confirm it runs a lot better than it did when I got it via Games With Gold. Now, the title is making it’s way to PS4, which is great for that fanbase. Personally, I’d 100% buy it again if it had PSVR support and especially if it came to Switch.

  • Campo Santo announced their acclaimed story-driven walking simulator, Firewatch, is coming to Switch with “a couple surprises”. When asked about a release date they replied with “soon”. It’s worth noting Daney and I aren’t into games of this genre, but Firewatch’s stellar voice acting and interesting narrative kept us hooked until the end.

  • Ubisoft announced Far Cry 5 is the fastest selling game in the franchise with double sales of Far Cry 4 in it’s first week of launch. “Consumer spending” for the game has reached around $310M, though how much of that is represented by pure game sales is unknown.

  • The Pokémon Sun And Moon anime series has just hit Netflix with 43 episodes currently available, giving you the chance to experience the new adventures of Ash and Pikachu.

  • Nintendo posted the requirements for trouble-free charging using third party USB-A to USB-C cables on their official FAQ from Nintendo of Japan. Those using a USB-A to USB-C charging cable should make sure it has a 56K OHM resistor.

Industry News

Today, Boss Key revealed what it’s working on next: Radical Heights, a free-to-play battle royale shooter that’s coming to Steam Early Access tomorrow.

Valve released the following statement:

While it’s true Steam Machines aren’t exactly flying off the shelves, our reasons for striving towards a competitive and open gaming platform haven’t significantly changed. We’re still working hard on making Linux operating systems a great place for gaming and applications.
