Destiny 2’s Expansion Dated and Billy Mitchell is no Longer the “King of Kong”

  • PlayStation’s reboot of God of War has been received immensley well and has even earned perfect scores from outlets like IGN. At the time of writing, God of War holds a 94 on Metacritic based on 80 critic review scores.

  • According to Bloomberg, Nintendo has created a Switch-related partnership with Scrum Ventures “to scout startups working on new ways to play or use” the system.

  • After reviewing and scrutinizing the provided evidence tape, Twin Galaxies has stripped Billy “King of Kong” Mitchell of his world records and have also informed the Guinness Book of World Records of their decision. It has been ruled that Mitchell has been using an emulator to record his scores rather than native arcade hardware. This all started by Twin Galaxies forum member Jeremy “Xelnia” Young who noted that arcade cabinets load Donkey Kong levels from one side of the screen to the other, while MAME loads them in large chunks. Looking at level transitions, he concluded that Mitchell’s level transitions were consistent with those occurring in MAME.

  • Bungie announced Destiny 2’s next expansion is titled Warming and its set to launch May 9. The developer promised to show off the expansion and reveal new details during a stream on April 24.
